Convergence for Climate Action Job Shop
It takes a lot of effort to make an event like this happen, especially in a sustainable and healthy way. If you would like to get more involved and be part of the community that makes it happen, there are various ways you could plug-in either before or at the event.
One of the best way to help is to take on coordinating a specific task. Here is a list of specific jobs you could help out with. What would you be good at? What interests you?

Power-Plant Manager
- It is our mission to keep this event dirty-energy free! Here in the Northwest, that means off the grid. We are looking for a special someone who has the skills, knowledge and experience required to organize and maintain sustainable energy structures, including solar panels and small-scale wind turbines.
- Also, we are seeking individuals who can lend equipment or help with set up. If you know the logistics for setting up solar panels, small-scale wind turbines, or any bike-powered get-ups, or if you have materials to build these set-ups, please share it with us!

Staffing the Welcome Tent
- This involves welcoming people! So, answering people’s questions, directing them to where they want to go, and collecting donations. Don’t worry, we will supply you with all the information you would need to fulfill this role.

Medics/First-Aid tent assistance
- If you are a First Responder, trained in First-Aid, or are any kind of healer we need you to help keep people healthy and safe.
- Help needed throughout the event.
Sound System Set-up
- If you have experience with sound equipment technology, setting up and taking down a sound system, (particularly-with sustainable energy) we need you!
- Help needed throughout the event, mostly in the evenings.
Security
- This role involves conflict resolution, acting as police liaison, and crowd management. Acting tough is not a necessity, however skills in communication and practical sense are.
- Help needed throughout the event.
Cooking
- We are looking for groups or individuals willing to pitch in and help create healthy meals for a few hundred people—may sound intimidating, but remember working with a good team of folks makes taking on large tasks possible!

Dish-washing station
- We need a few good people to oversee the maintenance of a clean and efficient dish washing system.
- Help needed throughout the event.
Maintaining hand-wash stations
- We need a few people to check up on these stations and make sure they stay clean and stocked.
Maintaining recycling, compost and trash stations (replacing/removing bags and sorting)
- Keep things organized and clean, and help keep people educated about where things go.
- Help needed throughout the event.
Take-down & Cleanup – Make sure we leave nothing behind!
- We are specifically looking for someone able to bottom line this task, as well as volunteers to assist. This involves making sure that nothing is left behind at the location we occupy as well as making sure recycling and compost are taken to where they need to go.
- Help needed on Monday the 13th and especially Tuesday the 14th.
