Getting Involved in the West Coast Convergence for Climate Action
There are many ways to get involved with the West Coast Convergence for Climate Action. The most obvious way is simply to come to it. Everyone at the convergence will be encouraged to help out with jobs that need doing. This being said there's at least as much work before the camp as during it, and we need a lot of help right now.
If you want to pitch in before hand, the best thing to do is to contact us or read on for more details.
- There are local contacts around the west coast who are helping with outreach and ride coordination and they can probably use your help!
- If you want to help with outreach, you can send out an email alert, download flyers and handbills to print, or contact us to have some mailed to you.
- If you want to take on a job during or before the event, check out the "job shop",
- We have regular planning meetings if you are interested in making a more serious commitment to all of the ins and outs of pulling off this large event. Meetings use consensus decision-making, in which everyone gets a say. Contact us if you are interested in attending.
- Most of the organizing work is done by working groups. Working groups meet up at the main meetings, but many have their own meetings as well, and some working groups do most of their work outside of the main meetings.
- You can offer a workshop at the convergence. We will also have space for ad-hoc "open sessions" at the Convergence, but if you want to get on the printed schedule you must contact us no later than July 29th.
- If you support our efforts, you can donate or supply something from our wish list.
- You can request a booth / table at the event.
